    NVR Buying Advice

Hi Folks, I'm in the market for a new NVR. I have a Lorex 300 series. For the most part, it sucks. The basics are fine-- IP 1080 cameras with terrific night vision. Cameras look great. App isn't too awful. Suggestions? Here are more thoughts: What I'm looking for a dream NVR: -Something that's super easy to operate. Intuitive interface. -Easy to link to a phone app of some sort when I'm off site. -Fast -Doesn't crash or go offline too often -Compatible with my Lorex 1080 IP (IP Powered) cameras -Will accept 4K as I upgrade -Can reset or auto reset a camera if it stops receiving an image from a camera -16 camera capacity for future use What I don't like about the Lorex: -The interface is fairly awful. Clunky, constantly repeating the same clicks, no logic to the layout. -The networking inside the home works, but getting anything to a phone outside my home network worked for the first year, and I never was able to revive it. -The NVR goes offline too often. Cameras drop out. You can't restart a camera with a click, you have to physically unplug it. A reboot can get things revived. Sometimes I just reformat the internal drive and that will clear things up. -I don't have a sense of how this thing is going about its business. -Can't jog or search backward during playback What I like about the Lorex: -Playback and image quality is terrific (It's an HD system.) -Night vision on the cameras work extremely well for everything but a license plate. -In Playback it links multiple cameras -Marker system for easy searching of events Thanks in advance for your suggestions.
