BOSCH 36x 600 Series PTZ power surge

Well, $600 later for the repair. It was the CPU Module and the Comms Module....., now I'll know, but hopefully it won't happen again.......

    PTZ camera @ 1/4 mile

I actually found the camera that will read a license plate 1/4 mile away. It has 48x optical zoom and works great. It is the SD10A848WA-HNF - DAHUA SD10A848WA-HNF 4K 48x Starlight+ IR PTZ AI Network Camera DH-SD10A848WA-HNF
  3. Hoping someone has experience with power surges on a PTZ camera, even though I had a surge protector on it. I have a BOSCH VG5-624-ECS w/ a Bosch VG4-A-PA0 camera mount. I had a nearby lightning strike guessing 6 miles or so away, and then my camera went out. This camera is pretty modular. When I inspected it, all the fuses were good, 3 in the camera mount box, and 2 in the actual camera dome. When I power it on, the only thing running is the heater fan. I am wondering what is the most sensitive item on this, that would have been compromised. Would it be the control module stack (F01U241097), or maybe the actual camera itself (AutoDome 36x DN NTSC G5, part F01U217886)? I also see the G4 Comms Module (VG4-MTRN-S, part F01U010508). Any direction is greatly appreciated.....

    PTZ camera @ 1/4 mile

Anyone have a recommendation of a PTZ camera to allow for reading license plates at 1/4 mile clearly? I have a Bosch VG5-624-ECS, 36x zoom, but on the top end, 12x of that zoom is digital and I lose resolution. Looking to find something better.... Thanks....

    PTZ-W470A Outdoor PTZ Security Camera

I'm listening. What do you suggest that has at least the 36x or higher zoom? And if it's possible to get a replacement block camera, and cheaper than a new camera, that may have to be the option for the moment. Appreciate the help.
  6. Anyone know the current part number for the PTZ-W470A block camera contained inside? I have an older version and it references on a sticker 940056, but I know that has been superseded with a new number for the 36x block camera. And that is what I need to order, a new block camera for this unit. Thanks. Here is a link to the camera itself, but I don't need the whole unit. https://www.cctvcamerapros.com/Outdoor-PTZ-Security-Camera-p/ptz-w470a.htm
