  1. Hello everyone, I am not educated on surveillance systems and hoping that you folks can help me out here. I purchased a cheap Esky system, 4 channels with 4 IR cameras and a 2.4 GHZ USB receiver/transmitter that plugs into my laptop or desktop computer USB port. I was able to purchase the system brand new for about 75 bucks, I know that this is a cheaper system but my thinking is that I could gain adequate knowledge of the CCTV systems and IP systems and afterwards upgrade to something better when I feel comfortable that I can set it all up correctly, hopefully this cheap Esky system along with some help from people such as you folks that know about these things I will get there fairly quickly I'm sure... so thank you in advance for your efforts helping me here, it will be greatly appreciated. This system came with the software installation CD, I followed the instruction manual for set up and everything installed fine, the system is up and running with no issues.....my questions at this point in time are these, can I set this CCTV system up so that I can view it remotely using my smartphone or laptop by going online? It did not come with a DVR, I am viewing the camera images using my laptop LCD display. The software does come with a MOBILE folder/files that will allow me to install the software onto my smartphone but in order to see the camera images with my smartphone will I have to keep my smartphone in range of the 2.4GHz receiver/transmitter that is connected to my laptop or can I set up some type of camera account online and channel my CCTV 2.4GHz receiver/transmitter through that online account and view the camera images from anywhere by going online to that account? Thanks again for any help.
