  1. I purchased a Lorex LH118501 (8 Channel Network H.264 DVR) years ago, but due to life happening I was never able to set the machine up until just recently. The DVR is now out of warranty, it won't even boot straight out of the box, and Lorex won't spend 2 seconds of their time on me. I figured what the hell, and I took the thing apart to look at the disk and cables to see if I could figure out why it would not boot, and found a very strange partitioning setup on the disk. First partition, format "unknown" 459.76 GB, second partition ext2 with a single 164 byte file, and no obvious boot partition set. Do these systems run from prom and use the disk as storage only? Is this partitioning normal for a Lorex? Any help in understanding this would be appreciated because I have never seen one of these work. It was a complete waste of $500 if there is no resolution to getting this to boot up. thanks
