  1. Dahua NVR has the same GUI interface as the Dahua hybrid DVR. You search, you find a segment of video you want to save, you clip it at Start and clip it again at End. In this NVR you click on the diskette button and it opens up your thumb drive where you "backup" the video clip you want to save. It saves to the thumb drive as a .DAV file. That's still okay but you should be able to convert it to .AVI or .MP4 format. For that I use a small Dahua converter, " Dhavi," which is supposed to convert it and save. The .DAV file should be a .AVI file but regardless of size the .AVI file is corrupt. Therein, lies my problem. I converted it with a new program called "ConvertTool" with the same results; the .AVI file is corrupt - it shows in file explorer as having a "size" but play time is zero. I've used VLC and the Windows default player, "Film & TV," with no luck. Is there a way to convert .DAV to .AVI in SmartPSS? SmartPSS can play the .DAV files for sure.
  2. I've always been able to convert saved clips from my DVR to .avi format with Dhavi. The video clips in .dav format from my new NVR play in SmartPlayer and sort of play in VLC. When converted these new .dav video clips show up in file manager with the correct Size but the "Play Length" is zero. What would cause something like this? I'm using ConvertTool to convert the .dav files. Dhavi did not seem to work. Here is the link to this ConvertTool: https://www.rhinoco.com.au/file/download/2818 Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
  3. Hello. I have a new Loryta PTZ camera. I gave it a static IP address in my router. The camera is connected to my ZyXEL 2200 switch which is connected to my Dahua DVR. The camera displays in SmartPSS on my computer and in its internal IP address in web interface in Firefox. From the DVR it shows up in Remote Device and displays in Onvif mode in the DVR but not with static IP address. In Remote Device the camera is detected and will display in Onvif mode in DVR in HTTP Port 80 but not with static IP address assigned to it with Config Tool. In Onvif mode the camera is sending data to the switch which displays on the monitor. Change to Private mode and static IP address and it displays, "The Login return time is up." What is the pesky problem here? Would an NVR remedy this kind of issue? DH-SD49425XB-HNR_datasheet_20201126.pdf
  4. I bought this PTZ camera and cannot get it to display. It is connected to an old ZyXEL 2200 PoE+ switch and an old Dahua DVR. I think it is a problem of new technology and old technology (possibly faulty equipment). Or is the camera difficult to configure. Main question is, did I make a mistake in buying it? 5. I have a VPN set up on my router. My ip address is different but shouldn't internal ip addresses be the sameHow does that affect remote viewing and control of the DVR and IP cameras? Config Tool isn't seeing anything and manual add doesn't produce any results. DVR and cameras are Dahua. Thanks. edit: humor me; answer this post with anything.
