  2. How can I connect the SOD14c camera with it's RJ11 connectors to a pc based DVR with cards from AverMedia NV5000?? or any company... Is there a junction box (or similar) that the RJ11 cables can plug into, and then that would plug into the PC DVR??? Or, how does anybody else do it? Or is it that the Samsung Cameras only work with a Samsung ssc14web and sscdvr from sams, type of setup? The DVR setup I saw could only record 4 cameras, thru 4 bnc output video conectors in the rear of the monitor (ssc14web). Surely there is an alternative??? HELP HELP thank you in advance mjharris00

    Samsung GVI SSC14WEB networking problems...

Hello I am working on one of these right now! My problem is how to record all 8 channels with a DVR? Any way I would use static ip, that way it never changes, so you can find it, and it can be any address. if you have a pc on the network, open cmd window and type ipconfig /all. this will tell you ip scheme, the gateway etc... then (on ssc14web) just go into menu, pick static ip address, and set it to one in the scheme that isn't being used. ie (192.168.1.50) where the gateway is 192.168.1.1 (or any number, as long as you input the correct info) from the ipconfig /all info. Tehn open your ie browser and put h tee tee pee://192.168.1.50:80, into the address bar. (80 being the default port, unless you changed it) it will want you to login, default user and password are: root root , for both. it will then load the software, and it may need you to allow popups from that address. then load the software and restart browser.. put the address in and log on, and it should work. the ip address can be any that you want it to be, as long as it not being used on the network. good luck0....If you know how to connect a dvr and record all 8 cameras, let me know...ok? thanks mjharris00

NV3000 with four cameras, slow in playback

Hello I use avermedia, and usually love it. I did have the same problem with nv3k and ended up going to the nv5000 and that has much better recording and playback. it is capable of 120 fps and the nv3000 is only 30 fps. split by the number of cameras etc... part of the reason you internal network is faster than the outside network is this: the network is 10/100 and that all can be used to run as fast as the equipment will allow. but with DSL your down may be 3 or 6 mb, but your up speed, which is what you are using when sending camera video to your home or outside location is probably 512k max. So you are really pushing you dsl line to it's max to send that data over the line, and it just cannot go as fast as your internal network. I have a friend's business with 10 Mb up & down, (NICE) but the nv3000 is still jumpy and lucky to send 7 fps (usually 5 or 6) and the nv5000 is much better. So there it is the card specs that are limiting the quality. I hope I helped...much trial & error. mjharris00
  5. Hello, I am using a SSC-14WEB, and having problems. It has 8 digital cameras with RJ11 connectors, that plug into the monitor housing. The 4 bnc video outputs, can go to a slave monitor, vcr, or DVR...but you ony have 4 connectors. How do you record all 8 cameras? And can you record all cameras with remote viewing? I guess you use internet explorer, but what else?...any ideas on how I can use a AverMedia 8 channel DVR card in a Dell PC to record all cameras? I hope someone can help. thanks. mjharris00 Hello from El Paso TeXas & Albuquerque, New Mexico,,,,,
