  1. Hi. Many thanks for the reply. The following day we powered it on and it started right away and has been running since so I really don't understand what the issue was. The only thing is, when it was restarted it didn't have both drives connected. We must have left off power lead off the second one while trying all the changes. This makes me think it could be power related as it was able to start again when all devices were not attached. Anyway we decided to leave it run and see if this replacement system would work ok for fear that if we reboot to add second drive we will have same issue again. So, in the meantime, it seems to be running fine and recording, but we now have an issue on 2 laptops where they now receive an error message about duplicate Network Client product ID. Any suggestions as to what would cause this or how to overcome this problem? The same pcs and laptops that were accessing the old system for years are still identical. No new pc or laptop etc
  2. Hi all A peculiar problem here Will briefly outline the issue We have had a DV8000 operating for years without any issues. Recently it started to throw an error on the main (system) disk saying the drive was corrupt, so no longer could record. We purchased a used DV8000 and plugged it in today and ran the unit and all was fine except we had to exit to Windows to manually set an internal network address (Win 2000). Exited to Windows no problem and then realised we had no keyboard plugged in as we always use the onscreen keyboard in Intellex. Exited from Windows and the machine just sits there and does nothing. The monitor goes on standby The cd drive light is CONSTANTLY lit as if its trying to read something although there is no disc present We left it for maybe 10 minutes and nothing happened, so powered it off and left it off for 10 mins. Tried turning on again, using switch on back, removed and replaced power lead, used front power button, used front reset button....absolutely nothing......Switched unit off again and left for a few minutes and turned on and immediately it booted up and we continued and exited to Windows with keyboard attached and changed the IP address settings in Windows 2000. Went back into Intellex and tried to connect over network, but no luck, so decided to shutdown the system and reboot to make sure router assigned address ok What followed was a repeat of above, BUT, it went on for 3 hours, changed power supply and used power supply from old unit, no change, put power supply back, mouse in, mouse out, keyboard in, keyboard out, changed ram with old unit, no luck. Finally gave up, and the best way I can describe it is it is almost like the machine is still shutting down, although the monitor is in standby and the cd light is constantly on. Reset buttons, switch on back, power lead, everything, and not once could we get the unit to power back on. It doesn't even go to the initial boot stage with blinking curso where normally the BIOS details would be displayed on a pc Have tried various searches all over the internet but NOTHING seems to describe what is happening here!!! Now I know I have supplied very little detail regarding versions etc as I am no longer at the works, but surely somebody has seen this before and has some idea what could be happening??? I am totally stumped and would really appreciate any feedback Thanks

    Dahua Firmware 2.608 tip

Hi Sean Many thanks for the reply. We are already recording using the main stream, but from reading the manual, it seems I should have other options underneath for motion stream etc. Also, I have setup the extra stream at lower res and bitrate and it works very well with gDMSS on my Android. Thanks Micheal

    Dahua Firmware 2.608 tip

Hi Rory You seem to know the Dahua systems well I set one up a couple of months ago for my dad and its working well We have it recording around the clock, but also recording motion which makes it easier to search for motion based events One thing I have never got to grips with is the different recording rates I am looking at a PSS manual and it mentions the dropdown beside Main Stream in Encoding The thing is, there is no other option there when I drop down the menu? Could you throw some light on this for me please as we would like to do the "round the clock recording" at a low resolution/bitrate, but increase it for motion based recording? Micheal

    dvr network problem

Hi. Do you mean that you can view over internet through browser after it installs plugin, but you cannot view using standalone software? If so, you need to open port 5000 in your router for the IP address of your DVR. Port 80 is probably open already so the browser method works, but if 5000 is not open, the standalone software will not work
  7. Very sorry! Never realised I had a reply until I was browsing just now Anyway, thanks for the feedback, but as I am in Southern Ireland I am very limited in what I can use. Turns out that Vodafone, Meteor, 3, and emobile have no coverage here, but O2 has "marginal" coverage and we have set it up using the Edimax. It does the job, but we really need to look at attaching a 3G antenna as the signal is very poor and drops now and again, but once it comes back on line, the Dyndns works fine and port forwarding was all very straight forward
  8. Hi Tom Long time lurker here and finally asking a question. Sorry for dragging up an old thread, but the search brought up this one. Have recently got an Apollo HD DVR and set it up and its fine for local use, but we now want to add network viewing. The problem is, we have no broadband availability at all, but yesterday we tried a Huawei E220 modem on a laptop at the site and can get a reasonable upload from O2 (Ireland). Now my main question is if the DVR can use the modem directly just through the usb port? I cant see how it would connect etc when there is no icon to click like in Windows. Assuming this is the case, we have an Edimax router which will take a USB modem. Is this the route we go down, and also, I presume when you plug in a usb modem into the router, it will "auto-connect"?
