Hello everyone. Just found this forum. Wish we found it earlier.
We have never been able to get an Aver card to operate a PTZ. We have tried 5 different ones. Granted none on the Aver approved list, but, come on. We have hooked up all 5 to other manufacturer's stand alone dvrs no problem.
Any experiences, thoughts, suggestions?
Thanks,
Ken

I have installed many PTZ cameras with AVerMedia DVRs and never had any problems. Which Protocal are you trying to connect with AVerMedia? I recently connected Outdoor high speed 27x WDR IP PTZ camera from iLink Professionals, and even that worked fine. I would double check the configuration and make sure that your ID, Protocol and baud rate is set right.

The 57g version software does not allow you to change the baud rate. You can go to the protocols folder and manually change it to the baud rate that your camera is set to. I have had no problems using PTZ's with AverMedia. The newest version (on the global site) does allow youto change the baud rate. I think the baud rate setting is the issue in your case.
