Acti uses a 1/3" sensor. Our cameras use a 1/2 CMOS sensor. The result is dramatically better image quality in low light environments when compared to Axis, ACTi, or IQI.

I am actually impressed with the ACM4200. We have one in our lobby, and the image is great for the price. But the one thing that I don't really like about it is the housing, which reminds me of the AXIS 207 in that you can't put it inside an enclosure easily.

How can you beat the price on it though? $200 for a 2 megapixel camera that does MPEG-4?

I tested the Axis and ACTi dome cameras in my office. I have to say that I really liked the performance of the ACM3411. The price was also right.

Below is a link to the image taken with the ACM3411. The guys in the back work for our IT Department.

I just got a Acti 3411 and am trying it out in our shop next to a unbranded 420 line analog camera and it the Acti seem a bit crisper. Also the software that comes with it allows you to setup a 16 cam nvr.

Yes it comes with free software but I am using Aimetis Symphony so I have no idea if it's good.

I have tested some ACTi 1.3 Mpix cameras.
Image quality is OK.
ACTi NVR has horrible usability. I have given ACTi my feedback, and they say they will work on it.

Both ACTi and AXIS cameras have the same problem with the internal real-time clock not being able to keep real time when unplugged.
NTP is required.
Otherwise the ACTi NVR isn't able to record properly.

In ACTi NVR, there is no way to export video with the time stamp overlayed in it.
I do like the lossless AVI export though.
