i have 2 of the cameras shown here, they are genereic and i dont have a model number or too many stats on it. Is the ok for outdoor usage of my front and back doors to my office.
i've seen outdoor camera with a visor mounted to them, do i need one as well?
how close or far from the door should i mount it?

Depends on what kind of chip usually. If its a Sony Super HAD it will be more sensitive to IR's. Also the size of the sensor and focal length of the lens will make a difference too. But to play it safe by the looks of it don't go more than 20 ft. Coz usually cameras like that have a focal length of 3.7mm.
