Hi,
For one of my projects, I require the following
1. Multiple cameras are fitted in a row at a distance of 6-8" from the object.
2. Object width is take care of by the total width of range of cameras by fixing multiple cameras. For eg if the object is 14'(L) x 6'(W) and camera range is 1 ft. we have 6 cameras which grab the entire 6 feet of object.
3. To handle the length of 14 ft. the camera output will need to be put together or stitched together to get a single picture of the entire object.
I was thinking that if 6 cameras are used and frames are capture while the object is moved, then the entire length of object may be captured in a single picture file.
What would be the best solution for this implementation? Please also suggest the type of camera which would be suitable along with other hardware which maybe absolutely required.

What are your fps requirements? What about using a megapixel camera so you don't need as may cameras.

fps required could be from 25 - 50fps.

Could you suggest which kind of megapixel camera (Brand etc) an important consideration is that we have just about 6-8" of space between the object and camera.
And we need only one image once the set of cameras has scanned the entire object.

Try something from these two:

http://www.arecontvision.com
http://www.iqinvision.com

Could be anything from 1 to 5 megapixel.
