CCTV camera recommendation please

I am new to the forum, apologies if i have posted in the wrong section.

I have never bought or have operated or know how cctv cameras work. Sadly two of my newish cars have been scratched quite badly, it has happened whilst parked on my street. After god knows how many years i have been living on the same street no one has ever scratched any of my cars and now since i have upgraded my cars, they seem to get keyed regularly. I kind of sense its one of my neighbours, but cant really prove it.

The only sort of deterrent that i can think of is installing some high quality cctv camera.

I would really appreciate if you guys could help me out by recommending what kind of cctv cameras do i need, i want them to be of good quality without breaking the bank. Have seen a few cctv kits on ebay with dvr but cant really work out what the rest spec means.

Would appreciate your thoughts,views and recommendations
