i have a question about changing the camera id name

i have 5 cameras 4 are what is called coolcams and one is called wanscam but a website searched for my cameras and called the all wanscam jw0004 models. my question is the wanscam has a wxo- id and admin admin and i would like to change the id to nip- number and the password. it will not let me change the user or password. so this one is setting in the garage where i can cause no harm if someone get onto it. but look at my car. it has a firmware of 67.2.6.13 and the coolcams have firmware of 81.2.0.166 . the reason is when i'm away i can see the coolcams but not the wanscm on the coolcam app and if i use the e view-7 app i may or may not run at all. nd if it does run it may or not show the cameras. the coolcam app shows the cooolcam unit but not the wanscam it says invalid id which is the wxo- number. anyone have any ideas. or another app that will let me see them all everywhere and runs good. thanks

Hi Bob,

 

Those 2 brands use their own pip services, so it's hard to change that, but you can change the user name and password in the background, just read the manuals or contact their support.

i can see both on one app and i have changed the coolcam user name and password but the wanscam will not let me change it tried the manufacture and they can't help either. that is why i was asking if i would just change the camera id. but it sounds like more bother than it is worth so i will just get another coolcam unit.

by the way i can see them on tiny cam monitor as well but sometimes when i'm away the wanscam unit fail to let me see it. and because i can't change the password that unit sets in my garage where it can't bother anyone and i don't worry about eve's droppers looking for opportunity's. nothing in there. thanks

Why is it wanscam never help there customers

Cherry you have two IDs on the forum ... is it not better for wanscam to help ?

 

Not by saying call customers service or buy a newer camera burg of which costs your customers more money

the wanscam will not let me change the user name or the password. i tired the book and i found a program plus the cd that came with it. all fail. the coolcam app works on this cam inside the network but not outside of it. the eview7 app for the wanscam will work the wanscam in the network but not the coolcams and none outside the network on that app. so i use the coolcam app and get all but the wanscam outside the network. i'm junking this camera and getting another coolcam. they may be cheaper but they are working at least. the wanscam also fails if i pan it i have to go out in the garage and unplug it to reboot it. so what i did wha put a timer on it and it reboots everyday so i at least get to see it at home.

 

someone said to me the wanscam cameras are really wan scams rhe company is really scamming us.

Cherry ... you are wanscam .... this is a forum why can you not help ... why are you asking customers to call China..... the price of phone call is more than what the camera is worth.

 

Instead of changing your ID again help the post

The manual says:

You cannot enter MENU by forgotten password.

- If you forget the password, you shall reset SHR-2160/2162/2080/2082 DVR to

the values set at the factory. Keep pressing both the "MODE" button and the

"PTZ" button on the left for 5 seconds, Keep pressing both the "MODE" button

and the "PTZ" button on the left for 5 seconds. The password default is "4321".

Hi at this link above is your manual. In this manual it shows you how to reset the password.

 

so try some of this info to see if it help you out

Please reset the camera first and then enter in the user interface-user settings-re-type id/password-apply.
