Hi a few tests ..... what happend when you startup with no cameras attached.

 

What happends when you startup without the Hdrive connected

Also how are you connecting to monitor

hi thank you its the same with or with out hd and same with or with out cams

and if i run it throw the vga it locks like loads of squares very blocky like a old pc with no graphics

Does it stay on via vga ?

 

Lots of squares and blocks is also a sign of being on wrong format

PAL or NTSC ...... try changing it ...... menu on dvr

Yes that could also be a problem

 

That would not give the problem you have with vga...... did you check PAL NTSC

 

it was set to pal so swoped it over to ntsc still the same then back again i think iv got 1 a bad hdmi port and 2 a bad graphics processor

ok today i swoped the hdmi socket now the striped pic is clear but then when pic swops over the brand logo then tv shuts off so i turn it on and there is no image but got image on vga ???
