** In urgent need of an NVR **

Recommended Posts

Hello All

I am in need of some NVR advice. I have had a CCTV fitted but we never got the exteranl access to the NVR sorted. I could only connect and view the camera's via a QR Code because connecting via local IP's didnt work.

The NVR is back with the supplier for testing but he seems to have dropped out of contact. At the moment i have 4 Alteq IP Camera's fitted and i was wondering if anyone and recommend an NVR that will work with the cameras i have.

I dont really have much knowledge on NVR's in regards to protocols they use, etc. I do know i want to be able to view my cameras remotley and also get motion alerts.

Can anyone please help?? I am UK based so any places or websites that sell to the general public will also be a great help

Cheers

Hi. First I would get your money back for your NVR

I'll never understand why sellers sell systems that are not compatable.

2mp NVR with 4mp cameras is a waste of resolution

And looking at online prices £380 for a NVR that is low res .

Is this for home use or business?

Thank you for your reply.

I have not paid any money yet, so that is not a concern yet.

This is for my home. What would you recommend as a solution. I currently have 4 cameras up but looking to add another in the garage.

As I don’t have a network cable in the garage, can power adaptors be used?

Hi Rhys. I would look at the 8 way viper from qvis . Which goes upto 5mp on each channel. Good mobile apps and very good cms software .... a lot cheaper and much better than what you have listed.

Yes you can use power adapters to your garage

Thank you for the reply

regarding the viper from qvis, can you recommend any suppliers?

Also what apps does it use or have qvis got its own apps? I assume the cms is GUI interface side of things. what functions does it offer (email alert, motion detection, etc)

Hi. Sorry CMS / NVMS. Is software for PC or Mac to also control NVR local or away. As far as apps we use super CMS for iPhone and pad and also superlive plus.

We're are you located and I'll check for distributor.
