Intellex Network client---Multiple clients

Recommended Posts

I have a system which consists of 9 Intellex DVMS 16000. These are networked through a router to a PC running Win xp Pro at the other side of the building. Network client 5.02 is installed on this PC and I can see and use all the Intellex units remotely with no issues.

A second PC running win 8.1 has been installed with Network client 5.02 installed. Again I can use all 9 intellex units without problem.

Looking at the manual both paper and online I should be able to add each network client as an instrument on the other client. When I add the client in the instruments dialog and select "network client" rather than Intellex it will not show up in the connected devices. The network connection is fine as I can share drives and remotely access each PC through windows without problem, but each client will not see each other.

The intellex IPs start at 192.168.0.10 through to 192.168.0.18 with 3 unique ports set up for comms video and events for each.e.g

Intellex 1 192.168.0.10 Comms port 5000 video port 5001 events 5002

Intellex 2 192.168.0.11 comms port 5003 video port 5004 events 5005

and so on.....

The first client has an IP of 192.168.0.23 and its comms port is 5045

the second client is 192.168.0.45 comms port 5045

I have tried both with the same comms port and both with differetn but still cannot get them to see each other.

Is there something I'm missing?

I have a lot of experience with Intellex and the network client but this is the first time I have tried to use 2 clients to see each other.

Hi there.

I believe think 5002 is being used by Network CLient. But I can be mistaken.

Maybe that is why it does not work..
