why are some routers so slow to respond while fwrding ports?

This is not something I have experienced, do you mean at the time you set them up? I would think maybe this type of thing would be a symptom of firmware with a memory leak, but perhaps I am not clear on what you mean.

it just took forever to recognize commands...... enter the info, hit submit, comes back up filled out the same but missing the start & end ports but the type & ip info was still there. Then try to go back to see the ports that are there and click wait/wait/wait/wait/wait/etc/timeout.

Just slow.

You can buy a Netgear router for very little money, I would say if there

is a chance it might solve your problem, it's definitely worth a go wouldn't you say?

I like Netgear routers, they are easy to work with, they are well featured and they

port forward very easily which is 99% of what I need to do with routers.
