Issue with Router Harddrive and Hkvision

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, I have just bought a Hikvision CCTV cam, and have set it up to view remotely from my phone using my 3G connection. I now have a sizable hard drive to store camera footage on but Can not set it up in the camera configuration screen via my web browser.

I don't have a NVR I have just plugged in a 2tb hard drive into my router, I can access it via the router screen but when I attempt to put in the hard drives ip address (router address, 192.168.1.1) then followed by the directory (\\SUPER ROUTER\admin\Samsung_M3_Port-04E80051_usb1_1) I do not get anything back.

I have tried this with NFS and with SMB /CIFS (with the log in details to access the router) both options returns a "Mounting to NAS server failed. Invalid directory or incorrect user name/password"
