Help with mobile/remote view cctv

Recommended Posts

So, here it goes...

I've had cctv installed at my premises for some time now and I was able to view the cameras through their provided facility.

Recently the DVR was changed to a cheaper chinese alternative however the cameras still could be remotely accessed but recently I have changed the internet provider and gone from a BT router to Zyxel.

I've been trying to sort out the remote viewing since but I seem to have hit a wall

DVR settings

IP: 192.168.1.204

IE port :6803

Mobile port : 34599

Server Port :34567

Router Settings

Port forwarding:

-WAN interface - ADSL (choice of WWAN/ADSL/VDSL)

-IP address - 192.168.1.204

-Start port - 34567

-End port - 34567

-Translation start port - 34567

-Translation end port - 34567

-Protocol TCP.

*Note, I have also entered a separate port forward with start/end port values as 6803 in an attempt to make this work *

vMEye Settings

Address - 192.168.1.204

Port - 6803

username : DVR access username

passowrd : DVR access password

Somehow amongst this chaos and overwhelming self belief in my abilites I have ended up with a DynDNS account and tried putting this through the router aswell.

Currently, when connecting to the cameras through dyndns details on vMeye it will say "connect to server successfully", however it just displays a black screen.

Anyone able to help point out where I'm going wrong or what else I need to do?

Help is much appreciated!!

Hi. Can you post model of your new router

Which BT router did you have ? Bt router works with any service provider. If it's 4or 5 or 6 hub it might be better you reconnecting it

Hi,

The new routers a Zyxel VMG1312-B10D and the service provider is TelTel.

I have a suspicion that I think I did try the old BT hub 4 but that didn't work either

Hi. They are a pig to setup ...... they are also security checked by your isp.

Tel tel are in Cheshire a small company which is sometimes best if you need to have a 1 to 1 conversation

If you give them a call and ask to speak to Alan Gray and give him your recorder local ip 192.168.1.204 and port that too 34567

Also ask them for a static ip which is much better than a ddns and more secure with static from tel tel

Hi Tom, so quick update!

I re-installed the old BT Hub 5 and success! ...kind of

I can now access the cameras from internet explorer by typing the IP address and then ':6803'

My problem now is that for some reason it still wont connect on the mobile app?

Any advice?

Your time and help is much appreciated!

Update-Fixed it and managed to get the phone app working too! Used the port 34599!

Thanks for all your help!
