CCTV / DVR access

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I wanted to play some with CCTV / DVRs and etc. I downloaded some apps for android phone and they want me to input address, login, password etc. Since I don't yet have my own camera I started with this site:

http://www.insecam.org/

there are many unsecured cameras so I picked one:

http://www.insecam.org/cam/view/51417/

When I hover mouse over video I see address:

80.7.121.129

and port:

1024

but the site doesn't give me a login and password (or maybe I missed it?). Anyway I tried typing some defaults like admin/admin but apps don't work. Is there some site that has unsecured cameras with full detail (login/password)?

I would also like to ask about how it work in general. Is there some standard protocol for cameras? For example I've seen that some apps can rotate cameras (which can be rotated). So is there any standard API for all cameras or is it vendor specific? And what about DVRs? They must have some API right? Is it public API that can be found e.g. on manufacturer site or is it closed and vendor specific? I'm asking because some other app had a list of various DVRs to choose, so it must have some way to get cameras and capabilities from DVR.

Could you please recomend some good free Android / Windows / Linux app which can communicate with DVRs and display cameras streams?

That is a bad site been talked about on here before

Your system will now be open to that site when you connect your system to Internet

Delete everything from that site off your PC
