I don't know anything about those cameras. That Pany is not a true day/night, but that may be OK for your needs.

Check out this blog. http://www.networkwebcams.com/ip-camera-learning-center/2011/04/14/axis-sony-panasonic-ip-compact-camera-group-test/

Also, I completely forgot about cube camera for indoor use. Something like the TCM-4511 or TCM-4201.

DUDE thanks for the link!!!!! Great! Finally some pictures...

I know you are trying to stay in a budget.. but ask the school powers at be - how much is it going to cost if a parent

sues the school because of a claim they are making about their child getting hurt and the analog video or ip video that's

recording at a lower resolution (based on s/w or dvr they are using) can not show clear evidence that it's not the schools fault.

You spend $1k or 3k on a system and the school ends up having to settle with a parent for $20k or higher and insurance costs

go up because of the incident. then was it worth the $1k-3k on a system.

If you want to do it right you really need to look at every scene that you want a camera on, use a lens calculator tool to figure

out how much pixel density you need to be able to give a good clear shot.

example - the playground is 50' from the building where the camera will be and it's 40' feet wide and mounted 10' high.

A 1mp camera will give you roughly 30pixels per foot resolution at the 50' distance or better the close you are to the camera.

A 2mp camera will give you roughly 50pixels per foot which is enough to make out facial details and a clear image at 50'

goto an analog and you are probably down to 20pixels.. cost difference between a 1mp and a 2mp camera is usually around $130

difference maybe.

So, again - go through each of your scenes and decide how much clarity do i need at the farthest distance and pick a software

platform that does lossless recording... if you buy a 2mp camera you want to record 2mp worth of video not have it compress down to a

D1 720x480 resolution because then you lose quality.

just my thoughts

Where did you see VMS with loss less recording ( not compressed) ?

I have seen the architecture of Phoenix pre-k. I really liked the whole design of school. The infrastructure and building design is what which attracts the most people towards you. it should be unique and good.

Thanks for all the info!

I am in the process of finalizing the law requirements for the recording in the Calgary daycare center, I am located in Texas. But so far no problems, some preschools have cameras in every room....(excluding bathrooms)

Here is some more info:

I would like to stay around $1,500 for the entire system.

I would like to cover inside hallways, outside - playground, front door, parking, and maybe classrooms.

The building in 6,600 square feet(the first 5,000 SQ building did not work out), the entire land (including parking and playground ) is about 0.80 acres.

I love your suggestion about Cisco SF 302-08P PoE switc, and I had a great experience with Cisco in general.

Thanks for sharing the MP cams.

I got some more questions:

1. What do you guys think about this set up: http://www.samsungsv.com/Model/Detail/11/Samsung-SDE-5001N-16-Channel-DVR-Security-System

I found in in Costco for $900....

2. I did my own custom set up and it would look like this:

It would be an IP setup, with following Sony cameras(123 security has a great deal on them).

4 : http://www.123securityproducts.com/snccs11.html they would be inside of a classrooms.

2 : http://www.123securityproducts.com/snccm120.html would be in a hallway

2 or 4:http://www.123securityproducts.com/snfinecocamu.html they would be outside OR for the outside http://www.123securityproducts.com/snc-ch110-s.html OR http://www.123securityproducts.com/wv-sp105.html

Actually not sure if I could mix Panasonic in there....

Here comes my biggest concern....

I am not sure about NVR....

I am thinking about this one: http://www.123securityproducts.com/vt-ipsn16m.html I would put in my own 2 TB drive.

What do you guys think? Any NVR suggestions? ( I would like to get NVR for about $400 -700)

Also how does that Samsung for Costco compare to this system?

Samsung has 520 TVL....can that compare to SD: 640 x 480 IP camera?

Now another thing that's in my head it's Bosch NBS http://www.123securityproducts.com/nbc-255-p.html , just sounds amazing.....what do you guys think!

Some additional info,

I would have at least 20 -30 mbps with a static IP.

I know this is a ton of questions,if you guys got some time to answer help is very very much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello,

Hi,

I just want to get other people's advice/views on preschool. I am lucky enough to be a stay at home mom with my 2-year-old son and I have another bub due next year. All my friends and family who have children have put them in preschool even if they are also a stay at home parent, however, i don't plan on sending my son until he is about 4 years old so the transition to kindergarten is easier.

Do you think preschool is necessary before 4years of age?

Thanks

Trust me ..... kids start to learn the minute there born.

Earlier the better for preschool

You don't want your kids on making the mistake of going through the process registering to a CCTV forum to ask about there kids future.

I hope this helps

Hello,

According to me many schools may list CCTV cameras as one of the features of the school, it is important for you to probe and find out whether you as a parent have access to it as increasingly it is becoming not just a good-to-have but a must-have feature.
