flashing picture - utp problem?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

i'm not an engineer so please be gentle.

work in the shopping centre, about half a year ago we had a problem with some cameras. some of them started randomy flashing (like someone was taking picture using flash camera). later on situation got worse, picutre from the cameras was getting brighter for longer. the cctv company came and fixed it. now, unfortunately the cctv company has changed and new guys have no clue what to do.

i have been told that the problem was a PELCO UTP (tw3032ar-us) so the previous company has move some cables from one to another one (we have got 2 units for about 45 cameras).

the funny thing is that the problem albost doesn't exist in the morning - picture is stable and looks normal. i don't know if at night no one is using the camera or might be some interference in afternoon.

the picture looks much brighter for few seconds and sometimes there is a horizontal line on it.

please help if you have an idea what it could be as the new company won't help...

and if i described something wrong, please ask - don't kill

best regards

lukas
