Trouble connecting controller to PTZ camera

Recommended Posts

Hi, i am having trouble connecting a VCL controller to my PTZ camera. My main problem is i have no details for the camera. I have attached some pictures of the camera to see if anyone knows what it might be or any suggestions of the language it speaks (eg. RS485, RS422, etc). The camera powers up ok and runs through a sequence on start up but after that i cannot get any further movement via the VCL controller. The camera may be faulty as i removed it from a site a few years ago but i am unsure until i find the settings. Any help would be much appreciated.

I would bet that flat cable with the RJ45 connector is your PTZ controls. I don't see where the power would be hooked up though. Is it possible that is an IP camera? How many wires are in that flat cable? Any other labels or terminal blocks on that thing?

That is an older vista powerdome

they only support the vista protocol and pelco p (it auto detects protocol)
