Cyeweb Setup

So, I downloaded a trial copy of Cyeweb to see how it would work with the Arecont and the other analog cameras that I'm installing this week.

I'm using a K-Link 16CH card, using the bt878 chips. The card installed ok using the BT WDM drivers that they provided, and the image quality was good. Now I'm starting to try and get the IP camera to come up, but haven't had any luck. I anyone can tell me if this software is worth my time, before I dig-in too long.

I ordered the GE Symsafe Hybrid DVR, because GE told me themself's that it will work, yeah right. the DVR is nice, but to me, not worth the price.

So, after consulting with a million different people, I spoke to the security manager from a local casino here in CT, and they have 2 Arecont that they are testing, and the DVR that they are using is from a company called EXACQ, and the DVR does the exact same thing that I am looking for, but it cost more $$$. I ordered today, and should have it sometime next week. Will post updates on what's going on.

I downloaded CYEWEB about 2 weeks ago. It has tremendous potential but not a lick of support. I understand why free software is hard to get help for but, like you, I'm struggling with little success. They have an email support address but 4 requests later I have yet to get a response.

I plugged in a USB cam to make it simple and the came came up straight away. I can set a cursor motion sensor and make the recorders and players work but can't attach the analytics that I need.

The documentation is basic and makes many assumptions, I did not find it helpful. I also tried the video tutorials and found they depicted an older version of the software with different UI features not found on the current version.

In a nut shell I'm frustrated. If I can't find somewhere to get help soon, I'll just delete the program and continue looking for something free or inexpensive.
