HikVision DS-2CD2032-I: Weatherproof Connector?

Recommended Posts

I created a few Hikvision videos on how to install these cameras on my yourtube channel. One of my videos shows exactly what you need to do with this waterproofing coupler.

Appreciate your effort

but you should really learn to terminate Cat 5 ends properly

Thanks! I'm not sure what the risk would be in this scenario (no moisture and no cable pulling). I don't want your comment to hijack this thread since it's about the correct use of the included grommet with the camera (not about cable termination) but if you could provide some input, like a tutorial on cable termination, that would be great to show us how it's done properly. Thanks for your help!

That's a perfect example, thanks! He gives reasoning behind why the jacket should be inserted into the plug which doesn't necessary apply to my situation, but he sounds like a nice guy. In any case, back on the thread's topic... I have received a lot of questions about the grommet since I've started selling cameras. I am in the process of putting together a quick video to help others out and to show them how it's done properly. I'll add the link to this thread once it's published.

I have been terminating RJ connectors for over 25 years.

Terminate your RJ connectors properly the first time if you want a reliable connection.

The devil is in the details...

Also, read what you post.

Yourtube ?

Property?

Prefect?

I know this thread is several years old but felt I needed to post this in case someone like myself came here looking for this same type connector.

You can find these connectors here -> http://ipcam-shop.dk/en/cables-21/hikvision-rj45-waterproof-connector-cover-cable-p1318

This should help a bit more in your search

I contacted HIKVISION USA at www.hikvision.com and Peggy Cong located the model number for me which is "101301492". The search for that number helped me find the link above to IPCAM. I ended up purchasing 30 of these directly from HIKVISION for $0.50 each.
