The software needs to:

1) have remote viewing of live and historical video and photos. Which is password protected.

2) send alerts

3) Use motion or audio sensing to trigger recording, or record continuously or periodically.

4) run on PC or Raspberry Pi

Get Zoneminder, should run on a Raspberry PI. It's open source, free.

Check out BlueIris software

I'm a Blue Iris fan, but lots of people like Xprotect Go, which is free but limits how long recordings are kept.
