Nelly's Eyesurv ION from Aliexpress?

Hi All, long time listener first time caller.

I'm in the market for budget 8 channel NVR. My requirements are simple, and all I want is an easy to use unit that I can pop an HD in, record 24/7, will record up to 8 cameras, show all on screen at once, and provide basic alerts.

Since I live in New Zealand it's not so easy to get anything here so I have to rely on Aliexpress. I like the look of the Nellys ION Series but the shipping from the US would be a killer (they don't ship here so need to get it on shipped from someone in the US).

I've found these which look similar, and I would assume the first one is the same (has the same interface in the screenshots), and the second one a later model (no screen shots).

Does anyone have an experience with these? Also, does anyone know if Nelly's develop their own firmware, or would the updates be available for these devices as well?

I'm not trying to circumvent Nelly's, it's just that they don't seem to ship to NZ.

That's weird, I typed Nelly's and it hanged to Dahua in the title, and it disappeared in the body... So if you are wondering what I mean, it's the Nelly's Dahua ION Series.

Is there something weird happening here... I can't type the brand of the one I'm looking for without it changing to Dahua.

That is an unwritten word since he was banned. Living in the South Pacific, just get a cheap Dahua NVR. They make some cost effective models now in the same price range as the one you mention. Just go to dahuasecurity.com, pick out which one fits your needs and go for it. Shipping from the U.S. is very expensive, especially an NVR which is a large box.

Do all of the Dahuas genrally have the same OS on them are there some to stay away from?

These smaller ones look great for tucking away discretely

Yes, all genuine dahua have the same GUI & can use GDMSS & PSS for PC CMS. The 2 Hybrid DVR from your first post is not dahua. They are Xmeye which is a clone. Also if you read properly the 8ch can only support 8nos IPC on 960h.
