DS-2CD2032-I Firmware update

I saw that there is a newer firmware 5.3 available for above camera. I downloaded it on my desktop. How will I install it on Ubuntu?

If I click the firmware search box in the admin inside firefox nothing happens.

Before you try any update confirm that you dont have a china region camera or the update will brick it!

The CCCH indicates it's a Chinese cam, which means it has hacked firmware to give it western languages. Attempting to upgrade will likely brick your cam unless you do some research on how to jump through the hoops, which is a lot more complex than it used to be.

There are some pinned threads at the top of the forum on dealing with some of these issues, but it's not for the faint hearted.

Also, some people are not happy with the 5.3 firmware, and recommend staying on older versions like 5.2.5. I don't have any experience on these, though.

I see, unfortunately I don't seem to be able to use the cam under Ubuntu over webadmin.
