increasing camera number in NVR

hello

I have a 16 ports Hikvision NVR.

lets imagine this scenario : the 16 ports hikvision nvr is connected via lan to a 24 ports POE switch .

this 24 ports POE switch is connected to 20 Hikvision ip cameras.

all cameras are turned on

would the the 16 ports Hikvision NVR be able to view the 20 cameras ? or is limited to 16 cameras ?( by firmware or software per example )

I have a spare 24 poe switch , so i was trying to lower my cost by using a small nvr

please advise

That will not work. A 16ch NVR only supports 16ch.
