GE Security VCE PCI cards - need firmware! Discovery 2400

Recommended Posts

I picked up three of these servers used and strung up 1000 feet of cable, got some cameras, setup a RAID, and now I'm realizing that the firmware appears to be proprietary and nearly non-existent.

I'm running a Linux OS (Debian) on the server and I had planned to use ZoneMinder software for monitoring.

Is there any way to get firmware? Currently, they are being detected incorrectly, as USB devices (lsusb says no ID) rather than PCI cards, and I found out the card info through dmesg logs.

(from dmesg logs)

Vendor 17c4 Product-id 7010

DaVinci based VCE module

GE Security - Visiowave

Installed in a Visiowave Discovery 2400 server.

Even manuals are hard to come by, but seem to be available through Lenel.

Can someone help me out or point me in the right direction in terms of the firmware?

I don't know exactly what I am looking for. The Facility Commander linux package may include the firmware - I am not sure.

Failing that, anyone got a suggestion for a linux compatible PCI card that can run up to 16 cams at 720 lines? Preferably with one audio input, and a output relay would be a bonus too.
