Multiple DVR reboots required

I am using an Active Vision SX-620-8 / 8 camera DVR for remote video monitoring of a site (8 miles away), which has been serving me pretty well.

The remote access is via Active Vision's cloud service, and is further accessed via their cloud website, their stand alone (computer) local monitoring software and their Android app.

The problem that I have been encountering is the system becoming un-veiwable at times, no matter what method I use to attempt access. This includes remote viewing of the cameras as well as being able to access remote DVR settings.

The 'fix' that I have discovered is that rebooting the DVR (either on-site, or remotely when I can access it) several times a day. With this, the system remains accessible. As long as I reboot several times a day, I can access everything with no problem via any of the access viewing options. The unit also has an 'automatic maintenance' setting that I have set to do an auto reboot every morning, in case I miss a reboot prior to this time. With this, if I loose access, it becomes available again immediately after the auto reboot completes.

My question is this: Should I have to reboot this system several times a day to keep it remote accessible? I have never encountered anything like this before, and feel that this is not normal operation.

The DVR runs on a Linux OS system, which again has been serving me very well except for the need of having to do all of these reboots every day.

Maybe this is caused by the system using too much RAM (on the DVR) and not releasing it until rebooted (like Windows had/has a habit of doing on PCs)?? Maybe it's a firmware issue?? Would port forwarding possible help in this case (even though the internet connection does NOT appear to have anything to do with this)??

I have contacted the manufacturer about this and one tech suggested that I do the port forwarding, but wi . I just wanted to see if anyone here had encountered the same situation in their experiences.

I would really appreciate any input or insight that any of you might have on this. While it's not the biggest of problems, it does get to be a PITA pretty quick.

You should at least try to port forward and use no-ip, and see if that is more stable than the cloud for remote viewing.
