Exporting uncompressed video from a DVR

Recommended Posts

Howdy y'all -- I have several analog PTZs feeding into a standalone DVR. Resolution of live-feed and of playback is acceptable on the monitor. I need to export the recorded video and project it in other locations with pretty high-end projectors and onto pretty large screens.

I've been experimenting with the file types offered by my particular DVR, but all of them severely compress the video as to be unwatchable when projected later. A thumb-drive is my only media choice. However, I have an E-SATA out for an external drive, and have been wondering about that.

Is it possible to get uncompressed video off of a DVR?

I'm much obliged!

RustyBob~

The resolution that analog camera can provide is limited to VGA as Max. Give parameter to your dvr as Max High Resolution (Low compression rate), then access the compressed file from your PC or Laptop then decompress & display to your projector.
