Samsung svr-1645 stuck in reboot cycle.

Recommended Posts

Hi, I have a Samsung SVR-1645 which had a failed power supply. I've replaced with an equivalent Flex-ATX supply and now it does start up, but gets stuck in a reboot loop. On startup it beeps, flashes three blocks of the LEDs on the front from right to left, displays a picture of the unit on screen, then the LEDs all go blank and about 10 seconds later it begins the cycle again.

Is there anyway to diagnose the problem, or try to perform a factory reset etc.? Any help much appreciated.

I've found that if I power on holding the play/pause button, you can hear it toggle each of the 4 relays in turn on the motherboard, like its doing some sort of self test, and it does stop the constant rebooting, but it still does not start up correctly; It now just shows the LEDs for cameras 1-5 (the first batch of the three it usually flashes on startup) and displays a picture of the unit on screen.

Still no idea what to try next.

Could you find any way to fix this issue? I have exactly the same problem with my dvr. ( It now just shows the LEDs for cameras 1-5 (the first batch of the three it usually flashes on startup) and displays a picture of the unit on screen.)

Sadly not, I had to replace it, which was frustrating as it seems like it was an issue that should have been easy to fix but for the knowledge of what the lights flashing like that mean.

I had a similar problem with one of my channels causing the DVR to reset. Replaced the balun for that channel, problem fixed.
