Dedicated Micros DV-IP16D-600GB, DM/DVP2A/600D16

I was given 5 of the above DVRs by a camera company that upgraded their stuff. I am unable to get any of them to work. I have power and the power light comes on and so does the network light on the front when I plug it into the network. There are many red lights on the mother board and the hard drive sounds like it is spinning, but no hdd light comes on. Guy that gave them to me said they worked for him. I am unable to find a manual or any software. I can plug a camera into the back and it will only just pass the image to the monitor. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
