Connecting DVR to Keyboard/Joystick

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have a Hikvision 7204 DVR. The DVR has RS485 outputs on the rear, I also have a Vista NPX/KBD/J3De keyboard/joystick controller that operates my PTZ camera (also Vista).

I would like to be able to operate the PTZ features of the camera via the DVR as well as the Joystick. I know that it is possible to connect multiple joysticks together and the joystick has 2 RJ45 ports on the back, 1 is not currently in use and the other is plugged into an RJ45 breakout box which then goes off to the PTX cam.

I have tried connecting the DVR to the free RJ45 on the back of the keyboard but this did not work, I have also tried wiring it straight into the breakout box and this also did not work.

Where might I be going wrong here? I have checked the Protocol settings and address's of all the device and they are set correctly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

Nelix
