Swann NVR repair tip.......Symptom: No power-up/dead

Recommended Posts

My Swann 16ch NVR system lost power last night and would not come back on. Unit ran for about 4 years non-stop. Opened it up and found that three small capacitors (470uf@10v) had

gone bad on the motherboard. Power supply looked AOK. Dusted everything out and put it back together. Unit is working again. Total cost....75 cents.....30 min labor.

I have an issue that sounds identical to yours however I have no idea about fixing it myself, do you know somewhere I could take it to have it repaired?

ANYONE can try this yourself - unplug power and all connections from NVR box and flip it upside down - remove screws that are near the edges, these hold cover on - flip upright, then open case - REPLACE BUTTON CELL BATTERY - reassemble, reconnect, power on, test.

No soldering nor testing capicitors etc.

Worked for my dead Swann NVR 4 7285.
