They are both for the same recorder just different updates

 

Top is December 2017 bottom is June 2018

This DVR has a 9-pin RS 232 port on the back.

Can we use this with a null modem cable to connect it directly to a computer for telnet access? (console access) for example if there is a need to update firmware a different way?

 

I noticed in your other post you mentioned that all newer DVRs don't have telnet function anymore, I haven't tried yet with this model.

Use a memory stick ... keep it simple

quick question:

 

If you install a firmware with date: 080601, can you return to firmware date: 171229 if you wanted to?

 

In other words can you go back to an older firmware; will it allow it? thanks.

Like I said keep it simple ..... it only takes minutes to change and always best to do it in order.

I will ofcourse being doing update in order, but my question however was, is it possible to revert back to a previous firmware version if necessary.
