better viewing software for geovision

Recommended Posts

I am sure this has been asked before, I searched but couldn't find any references.

I need some viewing software for Geovision DVRs that is similar to DMMULTIVIEW but able to view more that 32 cameras. It doesn't have to be simultaneously, I can advance to another screenful (like center V2).

I don't see anything that Geovision makes that can do that, except maybe ControlCenter, but i would rather not pay for more software that may not be what I want. I bought centerv2 thinking it would work, but you cannot get cameras to open in same place every time and it wastes a lot of screen space for the event list that I don't want.

IpCam Pro works great on my Galaxy S3, wish there was a windows version of that.

Is there anything out there?

OK, i downloaded GV-VMS and gave it a test run. It doesn't seem to work for capture cards (gv1480) however, only for Geo IP cameras OR VSxx camera servers.

Am I missing something?

Hello.

Is GV-VMS a replacement for GV-NVR?

It only supports IP cameras! No capture cards.

Thanks.

I only have IP cameras now. I replaced my only remaining analog camera last year.

So, now that I only have IP cameras, can I upgrade to GV-VMS from GV-NVR using the same GV-NVR dongle I purchased about a year or 2 ago?

Or, do I need a new GV-VMS dongle?

I found the upgrade videos on the Geo website but it doesn't mention if the GV-NVR dongles can run GV-VMS, etc.

Has anyone who has been using GV-NVR completed this upgrade, if so, how did it go? As smooth as it does in the video I hope.
