Uniview NVR and 4K cams, good quality?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I could not find any info on this NVR, I mean, literally not a single search result from Google:

UNIVIEW Model# VRN30432EP

Looking at these 4Ks and 1080 cams as well for residential (large home) installation

4K UNIVIEW Model#IPC3238SR3-DVPZ

4Mp UNIVIEW Model# IPC3614SR3-DPF28M

Is Uniview considered good quality in this industry?

Hi if you can’t find much on a product .... keep life simple and move on the something else ..

I also had a look at there website and first page there statement......first company in the world to develop 265 poe kit in 2018 ....... also made me not to keep reading the website .... I don’t read stupid crap like that. Poe h265 was being sold in 2016

Look at lorex

12 4K

4 2K

Not on that recorder you can’t ..... max is 4

And if your looking at using 16 cameras ....... You can only use 16 X 1080p

at 30fps, but 8 4K at 15fps should be possible as well

No that’s not how it works

But still you would of maxed out and that’s only 8 channels what about your 4 x 4mp

Why buy a 32 way and only use less than half .... save your money and buy a 16way

Why are you fixed on 4k

This will be a waste of money for an apartment complex

4 or 5mp will be just as good for you and will not use a lot of your budget for storage.

Univew, not doing very well in China, also not active player in US too. I will suggest you go with Dahua or Hikvision

Send me message, if you need more information.

What does "not doing well" even mean?

Can you explain why this is not the case?...and where in the specs do you this limitation?

Hi . Look at the spec and then capability..... which are the limitations of the recorder.

Plus I would not use a 32 way

Look at the specs...

The specs you pointed out reflect "Decoding" capability, not Encoding.

We’re on the spec does it say decoding encoding capability ???

The spec I posted is from that nvr ..... it also states the bandwidth

Buy the 32 way it’s you who is wasting money

I'm looking at this:

http://www.lowvoltagedirect.com/nvr-c-77_89/nvr30432ep-32ch-4sata-poe-nvr-p-2400.html

The total "incoming" bit rate is 320Mbps; that should be more than sufficient for recording 12 channels at 4K. Also, this NVR supports H265, I can reduce the bitrate each camera needs for recording by almost half.

And 32ch is not a waste of money, I need at least 16 with 2/3 additional for expansion.
