replace mains adapter with Li-poly rechargeable - possible?

Recommended Posts

hello everyone,

i have a mains operated CCTV camera that has a 12v 2A dc mains adapter. i have no idea what it draws when saving a 10 second night vision motion to on board microSD card. Would it be possible to replace mains adapter with a Li-poly rechargeable batt and need charge say once month or better?

thanks

No!

If yor system draws 2A current, it means that it needs 2Ah of 12V battery capacity for an hour of work. For a month you should have 30 days x 24 hours x 2 amps = 1440 Ah of battery capacity which is simply impossible. And you should have another one (smaller) to use while the first one is charging.
