Remote Access Problem

Recommended Posts

I have a FunLux/ZModo H.264 Camera System (model ZMD-DX-SAN8) with 8 cameras around house and shop.

I can view the cameras when I'm connected to my home network via laptop (zmodo pc site) and mobile (Zsight app).

I cannot view the cameras remotely either on a pc or cell phone. I've read online about port forwarding and attempted to get things working with no success. So, here I am. Any assistance and/or advice would be appreciated.

Setup:

TP-Link DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem

TP-Link AC1200 (Archer C5) Wireless Router

TP-Link 5-port Switch

So far, here's what I've done:

Set up an address reservation [DHCP-->Address Reservation] for the H.264 DVR (using MAC and IP address) due to Dynamic IP from internet service provider

Opened ports 80 and 9000 for DVR IP address [Forwarding-->Virtual Servers]

H.264 DVR Network Setting are DHCP

When I test the ports with an online port forwarding tester, they still show closed.

Am I forwarding the ports right?

Do I need other ports open for the H.264?

Thanks,

Hello. You may want to have your ISP bridge the TP-Link DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem. If it is also providing a firewall, you can either have it bridged or forward the DVR ports there also using the TP-Link AC1200 (Archer C5) Wireless Router assigned local IP.
