POE/NVR system and Powerline adapters

Recommended Posts

I would like to purchase a POE system as I have heard they are a bit better than BNC. Having said that I don't have Ethernet in my garage which is where I would like the cameras installed. Is it possible to use Powerline adapters & power injectors or some sort of POE switch to get ethernet/POE into my garage and keep the NVR inside the house? I called Swann support and they recommends the cameras be plugged directly into the NVR, but they werent sure if it would work with powerline adapters.

Can I make a POE system work in the garage?

You do not need POE NVR, just get normal NVR with a pair of Ethernet over Power(Powerline adapter) and @ garage just use a POE switch connect to the EOP.
