Mini nvr questions

Recommended Posts

I know sku 315912 at DX works with my NVR on i9 protocol.

i9 is not mentioned when i read the camera specs.

I am trying to untangle this little mess as well. I can't find anything anywhere that explains what I8 or I9 is all about, and I have just discovered I16 as well. Whose protocols are these and where can you get any info about them?

can / did you fotmat the drive ?

Are you powering the drive externally? ie using a USB hub?

Seems off the point, but what protocol are you using from the cameras?

The drive has a power adapter, it's not USB powered. The cameras are using Onivf for a protocol. I am using 4 Dahua IPC-HFW2100 and 3 Dlink DCS-2132L (WiFi).

This is the drive i'm using: http://amzn.com/B00834SJS0

Also, i tried using the Network Video Monitor Software that came with the Mini NVR and tried to make changes this way, but the settings don't apply after i hit "Save Parameters". When i go back into it, they are back to the default settings. Is there a reset option? Maybe i can set it all up again. I have rebooted it several times. Not sure what else to do.

The cameras are using Onivf for a protocol. I am using 4 Dahua IPC-HFW2100 and 3 Dlink DCS-2132L (WiFi).

I had the same problem. Eventually after much fiddling I got a firmware update for the NVR and problem solved. It is now running V4.0[20140416]. The cameras are now using I16 protocol. (Whatever that is??)

From what I can understand, a lot of the config options are stored in the cameras not the NVR. If the protocol is not working properly this information doesn't get sent to the camera when you hit Save.

I also eventually realised that the manual (even though it is not specifically for the Super Mini NVR) actually states that Motion Detection and various other functions are not supported by Onvif protocol. RTFM!

Hello

Could you post in this thread model and links to cameras that work or does not work with motion detection using this nvr?

For example:

HC-602 does not work

I'm interested which cheap cameras work with motion detection but now it is impossible to get this data anywhere ....

maybe there is a way to find out the exact (sub) protocol the camera supports, than find the update for nvr.

i bought a cam that supports i13, als got the login information to download the i13 protocol update.

now NVR does i13 and motion detection with this camera.

This mini NVR seller writes:

"The NVR can only realize simple functions , like video play, through ONVIF protocol. But not all onvif protocol cameras can realize motion detection with this NVR.

If you need to save other settings like MOTION DETECTION, CAMERAS SHOULD HAVE PRIVATE PROTOCOLS WITH THE NVR. PLEASE DO CONFIMR WITH US BEFORE PURCHASEMENT!

For example, for TI W series, please use i9, and for HX series, please use i13"

How did you install this update? This is not a rar file i13.update - my nvr if i try to update says this is wrong file.

I got response from escam.cn that their cameras are motion detection compatible with their mini nvr (i own that one 8ch).

I notice one more thing this nvr esata port is only data! No power, you have to grab power from usb!

So you have to use cable like that: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Hard-Disk-Drive-SATA-22Pin-to-eSATA-Data-USB-Powered-Cable-Adapter-0-5M-HIYG-/221440474130?pt=US_Drive_Cables_dapters&hash=item338ee17c12

instead of regular without usb plug.

"Thanks for your message, our W series,HX series cameras will be perfectly compatible with this mini NVR.

It means that when you connect these series cameras to the NVR,the motion detection function can be available.

For W series cameras, you can refer to the below link:

Hello CCTV'ers

I also ordered this mini NVR. (http://www.aliexpress.com/item/4CH-8CH-Mini-NVR-IP-Camera-Recorder-Surveillance-4-CH-8-CH-1080P-960P-720P-HD/1704796387.html)

I am using it with these 2 camera's (http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Support-Iphone-and-Andriod-3-7-mm-Korea-Pinhole-Lens-1920-1080-H-264-1080P-Micro/1859184041.html) and (http://www.aliexpress.com/item/2-8-12-mm-Varifocal-Lens-H-264-2-0-Megapixel-Waterproof-Vandalproof-Dome-1080P-2MP/1260729632.html)

I get moving pictures from both these camera's as long as I don't enter full screen mode, in full screen mode the picture freezes till I go back to multiviewer mode.

I'm also not able to get the motion detection recording working.

Another problem is that I only can play back the camera connected to channel1, the other camera's show a black picture in playback mode.

Is there anyone who has got the same problems?
