ESCAM NVR K104 4ch + ESCAM QD500 firmware updates

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have one 4-channel Escam NVR (K104)

Firmware: v4.0[20140417]

http://www.dx.com/p/escam-k104-4-ch-720p-1080p-mini-nvr-network-video-recorder-white-pal-ntsc-us-plug-335486#.VX8hAfmqpBc

And four Escam QD500 cameras

Build date: 2014-05-09

System: V4.02.R12.00006510.10010

Escam seems to really lack customer/software/firmware support on their sites!!!!! NVR doesn't have any firmware upgrades and QD500 tells me that "Sorry, because of the firmware problem, this firmware has been removed off shelves.we will solve it and upload again." WTF?!!??!?!?!? (for further information see: http://www.escam.cn/en/download/download-4-991.html)

Firmwares are really buggy, especially with the NVR (K104).

The main issue is that I can't get picture attachments to email for detected motion. I have tried both NVR and Camera email functions for the picture attachment with no luck. After searching about 20 nights for Google, I decided to approach this forum

There are also tens of bugs that I don't even want to list here... So I guess the right thing to do is to update Firmware... I think there should be Firmwares available (regarding this CCTVforum.com) for also Escam devices. I've red many promising threads, but I'm still afraid to brick my devices so I'd like to have some advice.

Any ideas how to make things better?

Thank You in advance!!!! And Greetings from Finland, tell hi to Russia, China, and where-ever you're from

Best Regards,

CCTV Finnish residential customer, just trying to make my family life little bit safer

(please call me Bond, Jami Bond)
