N6200-8E Fresh system Image?

Recommended Posts

It appears my mini nvr is toast due to a bad firmware update. It can still boot to a USB Stick and accepts Telnet connection via the network - so I have THAT going for me.

I ordered a new one and was thinking...

Is it possible to clone the root filesystem from the new one and put it in the old one?

I'm looking at Bootmed, Clone Live CD, etc. Wanted to see if anyone has tried it or has opinion on this...

Thanks

My new NVR arrived. Before I installed it, I made a copy of each MTD using Linux dd command.

I'm more than willing to share this with others if they want to try using the

"flashcp -v filename /dev/mtdx" format.

For this to work, you'd need to at least have it reading the USB memstick.
