Green topbar, Rainbow effect, Panasonic CW964E & WJ-HD316A

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I am trying to install one of my 4 Panasonic CW964E PTZ domes.

Now my issue is when connecting to DVR, I get a green bar on top of the image, and a rainbow effect going from bottom corner to opposite side top corner. The image is black/white but with a harder rainbow effect on some colors like red.

Anyone have any idea what it can be? I tried 2 domecameras and both of them had the same error.

I also have a green top-bar, no idea why it shows. One of the main issues iwth the top-bar is that it pushes the actual image from the camera down, so when im trying to adjust camera settings I cant see the last menu items.

Anyone have any idea how I can figure this out?

COAX for image, RS485 for controll

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried a different input on the DVR? How about a different cable? Take a new coax and run it directly from the camera to the DVR and report back.

Hi. Have you had them working before ? Have you changed dvr ?

Looks like you have two problems ....... Cameras are 11 years old and you are running on the wrong ratio monitor.

Go to dvr and under that camera number in des play settings set it to D1 not 960h

Also look at region and see if set for PAL or NTCS.

The cameras worked before when they were used for someone else´s system, but not with my DVR and current configuration that I have inputed.

I know the cameras are old, would love to buy something newer but way to expensive for me unfortunately. I did however change to another monitor with correct ratio (old computer monitor for servers), but didnt help.

In the DVR I tried to find display settings, but only found recording settings, that I changed to EXB (EXA/EXB: Low quality (EXTENDED)) AND 3IPS.

Also I cant seem to find region anywhere in its menu. Also tried looking for it in the manual with no luck :/

New update. I added an adapter to insert the coax from the CW964e camera directly into my tv, and it showed correctly... So the issue is between the camera and the dvr...
