I have tried the cameras on a tester and they work fine, but when connected to the PC it just comes up as a blank green, so it recognizes that a camera is connected but it doesnt show anything. I cant really figure out what the problem is and I cant seem to find any posts with a similar problem. Maybe its the PC/OS?

The specs are:

Windows 7 Pro 64-bit

Intel i5 - 2500 processor

Gigabyte motherboard GA-H67MA-UD2H-B3

4GB RAM

ATI HD5650 video card

500GB OS drive and 2TB storage drive (neither are green drives)

I might try installing 32 bit windows 7/xp and see if that helps. If that doesnt I have run out of ideas on what I can do.

Hi,

Wonder if anyone can shed light on this - I have a trusty old SA 5108 and for some reason Remote Console no longer works.

As far as I can see, all the settings in the DVR are correct and indeed have not been changed. It used to work fine, but I've not used it in a while so can't say when it stopped working.

The webviewer (on a web browser) works ok as does the Aver app on iPhone, but if I try to log in on Console Viewer I get a message saying "Login Server Failed !!!"

IP address is correct, as is the port number.

Operating system is Win7 but out of curiosity I also tried it on a WinXP box and it's the same on that..

It's as if the server service on port 5550 isn't running.

All,

I am banging my head against a wall trying to get some 4.0 mp files converted using the built in export feature in the Aver software stack. It looks to me like they only utilize one processor core for transcoding, and it takes way too long to get usable footage from some of my newer systems.

Does anyone know of a 3rd party conversion tool that could help speed up the process, or a workaround with it? I'm willing to entertain anything to get these videos faster.

Hello:

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with running larger number of IP cameras using two NV6480exp cards?

We currently have to of them installed in a system (i5 second generation CPU) with:

14 Analog

11 2mp IP cameras

It runs fast with this configuration.

We want to swap out the analog for IP cameras, giving us a total of 25 IP cameras. Has anyone tried to run that many (at 1.3 or 2mp) on a Aver System?

I have been building these systems for a couple of years now, using them in our restaurants as a nice 16 or 32 channel system. We have recently built a 16 channel IP Cam system that works super, but when we need to export video from the system, it takes hours. I know that many of the systems that I have built recently have Core i7 cpu's but the software only utilizes one of the cores for the processing. When I try to use handbrake or other conversion programs, it can't read the file correctly to make the correct conversion. Anyone have any great ideas to convert these video files in to another playable format? For example, I had to convert an hour's worth of video for one IP camera, and it took the better part of 24 hours to do the conversion.

Anyone with any ideas would be appreciated!

Hello

I have a PC based system Windows Vista, there are two Aver NV6480 PCI cards installed, the software is DVRNV6000 Express.

The two storage HDD'S were replaced as they failed (one totally/one nearly dead).

The OS HDD was left at this time as it was not making any noise.

After replacing the HDD's i connected the DVR to the internet and updated the software from 7.3 to 7.5.

Everything appeared to be fine.

The DVR was then set back up at site and cameras connected, the system appeared to be all ok, live images look good, however when I review playback the images are recorded as expected but are all very blurred, black and white, and messy as if it is the wrong video standard.

I am unsure if the software update has caused this or maybe the new HDD has been formatted incorrectly, however the disc auto setup in windows and all appears ok in the device manager, disc manager.

I am not sure how to proceed, I would like to uninstall the software and reinstall, however i do not have any CD Install discs or exe files with the software on.

Any suggestions please

thanks

That has not helped.

then i thought it may be the video card i have checked that, it seems OK .

Then i noticed the picture on the CMS remotely was not very clear

which rules out the video card .

Which leaves two components left which are the video card or the computer itself .

Has anyone got ideas .

The picture looks fuzzy not sharp like the kguard.

I would welcome any information on my problem with this machine, please. I bought it second user from ebay a few years ago. It has given me numerous problems, all of which I have overcome with normal PC knowledge, but now I am stumped and cannot find the answers online, so I am asking here, as this seems to have the most info. on Aver I can find anywhere !

I started to get, on a very random basis an error message to the effect that windows had run out of memory and the cache was being increased, however the whole machine crashed everytime this happened. I added another 1gb of ram and that problem disappeared, but a new one surfaced straight away, every day or so an error message came up about winhlp.exe needing to access a portion of memory that it could not. So I removed the extra 1gb of ram (which seemed to have triggered the fault) It then booted up for an hour or two and gave a BSOD with irql level or equal. I guessed that maybe I had disturbed something and pulled connectors and reseated stuff and tried again, it nearly booted up but locked up during averdigi initialisation. Now the disk on module is not recognised at all. I have replaced it with a known to run ide disk and that is fine, so I know the ide cable is OK, I checked the power supply to the DOM and that seems fine at 5.13 volts. So my conclusion is that the DOM has died, does that sound feasible? If so is it possible to get another at reasonable cost, or can I just use a standard hard disk, if so, where can I obtain the appropriate software and are there any gotchas on installing it ? (I have got a windows XP install disk and the serial number off the original install, but would that work for normal XP on a hard disk? ) Or should I just junk this and go for a cheapy Swann system or something else? Sorry it is long, but I needed to write it while the sequence was clear. Thanks in advance.

I have recently changed my pc for a new windows 8 model, I installed cm3000, which went on fine, the problem is when I login to my cctv and try to view the cameras (split 4 on the screen) it cycles through every camera at a rate of probably 2 cameras per second and wont stop, so instead of seeing all my cameras at once im seeing each one for a split second.

I'm building another system - Most of mine have been overkill - we try to run everything at max using two cards - 32 cameras - plus we have to playback in the middle of the night while all 32 cameras are recording so it puts a strain on the system.

One of the monitors has three camera spaces free at the bottom and the last three boxes say no picture as expected but all the other boxes on screen just contain this grey eye (I assume some aver logo of some kind).

Any ideas what that’s all about, I have tried going into settings/camera and repopulating the monitors and you can see all of the cameras populating correctly in the camera settings screen but once you go back to center and then click monitor only monitor one does what it should the other two now just have a nice screen full of grey eye boxes.

Atm as a temp fix I have just made monitor one as big as poss and shoved all the important cameras on there and that is working for now.

It always worked fine before which is what confuses me just started playing up after a reboot – could crappy gfx cards be the answer or have I missed an obvious setting ?

Cheers as always

I have AverDigi NV5000 machine that works with 15 cameras. I need to have access to this hybrid machine from another pc inside network and certainly from outside network.

I do not know from what should I start configuring it. Do I need some special software on another pc inside network or I can use any browser to access cameras on this machine? From browser I have tried to access this machine by typing: 192.168.1.39:5550 or 192.168.1.39:80. Not working althought these ports are open.

Thanks in advance for answers.
