ive got a HDD so can buy it bare.

so is there any way to actually rest this unit back to almost nothing? i tried removing the battery and unplugging it to see if that might reset it back to nothing and that fails.  the unit model isn2hvr16   or is there a better way to get the new firmware into the unit?   now and then it seems to stay on for awhile and then i search my network for cameras and it seems to see them but when i add them i have to go in and input there ip address port etc and then it will not show them. it will not let me change the stream to lower and then it again starts the bootloop.

this is the file they sent me that will not install 

the firmware version is no where near the one the company sent me.  so is this junk or maybe fixable?   thanks for any ideas

I have a Hikvision DVR-208Q-F1 and one of my cameras a HIKVISION HILOOK THC-T223-M TURRET CAMERA WITH 50M IR  which keeps either going dark or not on the system at all , 

I have moved to a free port on the DVR and the fault moves with it so its not the DVR, its coax fed, Question is will it be the camera or the cable thats faulty, is it possible to test the coax or does the fault seem to be a camera issue.

I am a complete novice when it comes to security cameras so I apologize for my lack of knowledge.

I have a 9 camera security camera setup at my house, hardwired.

The cameras can be viewed via DVR on my TV and SuperLive Plus on my phone.

I have been running into the same issue for years now, where I accidentally swipe up on one of the cameras while viewing them on SuperLive Plus, which deletes the camera. After deleting I don't know how to bring the camera back to view.

Can anyone please assist me? 

I feel like this should be a simple fix but I cannot figure it out.

In the DVR settings I went to Encode/ Main stream/More/ and turn "on" audio. Compression is "G.711A" and the audio source is "Local". (When the Video and audio is connected to DVR corresponding video channel, the option "HDCVI" under audio source for that channel is missing. If I take off the connectors, the "HDCVI" option returns)

I also turned on "Live Audio" and turn the volume to 100% on DISPLAY setting. 

I can't hear any live audio when i click into channel 1, am I doing something wrong?

The smaller 4 pin has a green left in it but the 6 pin plug in empty. 

X vision manufacturer says the pinouts and spares are out of stock due to the cameras age. (2015 to 2018). 

Most frustrated as this camera was working well and would again if I can repair it. I really dislike throwing away electricals if it can be avoided.

If anyone can help I'd appreciate it.

Quick rundown: each module with 2 1X8 screw terminal blocks, with jumpers in the middle, so I can: 1) inject video signal via balun, 2) have it pass through on to the next point, or 3) do nothing on select lines.  The same modules would have 3 1x2 screw terminals that would receive power, split it, and then pass it on.  On the receiving end,  it would be a single 1x8 terminal block that would terminate the run, with the matching baluns at the DVR end of things.

Equipment in use: Qsee HD DVR, up to 16 inputs, not that we even have that many functional cameras at this time.  I am looking into wither just replacing the imaging sensors in them, or outright replacement.  Any thoughts on that are appreciated.

I have searched Hi and low and the advise is to go through the PTZ menu that will bring up the camera menu and you can change the settings there.

The problem is I have tried this on 3 DVR's and not one allows you to get to the access to change.

This is currently connect to videoswitch VI R4316 with is basically a Hikvision DVR which videoswitch have added there name to the case instead of hikvision.

Any help really appreciated 

I bought the above base system to hook up to 4 exisiting SPRO cameras in my new house.  I got it all hooked up ok, installed the hard drive and thought I had changed the admin password successfully on the startup wizard but Ive obviously messed it up as its not accepting what I thought was the new password I created.  Ive also tried leaving it blank and typing in admin as the password but nothing is working.  I hooked the DVR up to ethernet with the hopes of viewing the cameras on the kestrel viewer app but obviously this is impossible without the password as it asks for it on every menu screen.

Ive attached a  screenshot below and am praying someone can help otherwise its just money flushed down the toilet

I have a Hik-Vision DVR DS-7100HQHI-K1 with the following issue.

The are 2 cameras with ghost images running over the live view. On "Camera 1" the ghost image is running from right to left and on "Camera 2" from left to right.

Funny thing is that the image ghosting on Camera 1 is the footage from Camera 2 and visa versa.

I have switched the cameras to different channels. 

I have also replaced the camera with the same result.

DVR is also brand new but cabling and camera was from old installation.

System is also located close to the sea.

I need some asistance I have this old hikvision DVR (DS-7204HWI-SH) that I am trying to password reset, I mailed the support team and they sent me the security codes, but when I use the code I get a password recovery failed error message. I have run out of options, and the hikvision support are not working today. This recovery is alittle bit urgent, anyone who can assist I will greatly appreciate.

NOTE: I have tried using the code generator tool and it gives me the same security code as the one shared by the hikvision support team.

Had 2 replied from other sources but always open to other suggestions.

If you want to use in the same network then it will detect by your DVR.
The 8CH hilook DVR supports up to 2x IP camera. We usually do not recommend to end users due to lack of networking skill.

Thanks for the email. Yes, the camera resolution is 2MP, the recorder can take 2x IP cameras up to 5MP. However, before buying any product please discuss your installation project with your seller so that they better assist you.

I had updated the firmware sometime previously and check regularly for updates, last was in early 2019 and is still current.

I purchased one camera to be sure all was good before buying the rest, installed it and nothing changed except the image quality. 
I then contacted Swann and after a round of faultfinding, was authorised to get a replacement….it worked🥳

Next pay I bought another one, it didn’t work, and so began another round of faultfinding, and another and another, all combinations of known good camera with channels and cables cleared the DVR but still no PIR🤪Swann help is anti help and email takes weeks to answer.

I then returned to the retailer and got a changeover no problems, you guessed it, no PIR detection.

So…I have two thoughts:

1. Is there any right way to connect a new camera? Should the system be turned off or left on? 
leading to my other thought:

2. Is there a one-time signal sent by the new camera firmware to the DVR to introduce itself, and if the power was off, by the time the DVR boots, the one-time signal has ended? 
 

No guess as to how I did it…power off and boot up afterwards. If this install 1.01, then don’t be shy, just tell me, please!!!
