  1. Hi Chris, The GeoVision card line allows for a connection of I/O devices through the I/O terminal block at the back of the cards. The system can provide up to 12V of power so if you have a 3rd party device that requires more than that for use, it simply needs to have its own power supply attached. However, I think you're looking to add some more complicated devices because the I/O block is used to simply turn something on or off. GeoVision has their own access control line, so while our access control is compatible with 3rd party readers (connect through wiegand 26-40 bit), you would need to work with GeoVision's access control in order to integrate it with the DVR. Please feel free to contact me directly either via voice or email if you would like more information - thanks Chris!
  2. Hi, What kind of system specs / GeoVision card and version of software are you using? I would recommend to check with our technical support department's live chat support at www.usavisionsys.com (link on left side) to solve your issue and be sure to provide them with the information I asked for. Thanks!

    PC vs Dedicated?

Hi Brett, If you would like to sit in front of a monitor and watch a 24-hour long video clip, then you simply would have had to highlight the day's worth of recording from Viewlog and it would play the entire day's worth of video. You could also merge the .avi file to however many days that you would like. There are definitely many differences between DM and GeoVision, and one thing I would like to point out is that their comparable retail quote to our system is $16K vs $6K - I'm sure that taking the time to learn the differences in the interface may be worth $10k per system to many users.
  4. Hi, It sounds like the motherboard is not compatible with the system. You can check with our technicians at www.usavisionsys.com (link for chat on the left side) for more information.

    GV 800 Web Server Issue

Hi osward, I would recommend for you to provide your IP address to our technicians at www.usavisionsys.com (link to chat on left side) so that they can test the issue.
  6. Hi Stephen, Sounds good - please email me directly and not through PM here so that I will read it right away. Thanks!
  7. Hi sfjensen, Thanks for your quick reply. Would you mind emailing me the information of the distributor that you are working through? It sounds like an issue that I would have to take up with him because as a middle man, too much time delay is occurring. At USAVisionSys, I have a complete list of our authorized distributors. If your dealer is not one of them, then who knows how many other resellers he is going through to try to get you support and information? Our authorized distributors should have NO problem getting a drop ship order, and if you called us directly we would be able to assist you as well. Please feel free to contact me if you would like any additional information - thanks!

    GV 800 Web Server Issue

Hi, Do you have any programs that are using port 80 which may be causing a conflict? Your best bet would be to contact our live chat support at www.usavisionsys.com and provide them with the IP addresses so that they can test your system and let you know if any settings need to be changed. -- Tim Shen / Account Executive USA Vision Systems, Inc. 9235 Research Drive / Irvine, CA 92618 Tel: 1.949.583.1519 / Fax: 1.949.583.1522 tim@usavisionsys.com / www.usavisionsys.com
  9. Hi sfjensen, Please let me know which GeoVision you have been working with. 1) I am not sure where you heard about "a next update fixing etc etc", especially if you have been waiting for 5 months. That is completely ridiculous - have you tried calling them to follow up or just been waiting? I can definitely get this information for you. 2) If lightning strikes and breaks the AS200, then a replacement would need to be done through sales, NOT tech support. You would ship the AS200 back to the factory for an RMA but if you purchased the box directly from GeoVision or one of our authorized distributors, then it's on their sales to ship out a new one to you. Feel free to contact me if you would like any additional information - I work for the US Branch of GeoVision and would like to know which contacts you have been speaking with. -- Tim Shen / Account Executive USA Vision Systems, Inc. 9235 Research Drive / Irvine, CA 92618 Tel: 1.949.583.1519 / Fax: 1.949.583.1522 tim@usavisionsys.com / www.usavisionsys.com
  10. Hi tegatdavis, Please let me know the technician's name and I will look in to the chat log for reference provided that the chat was done through www.usavisionsys.com. I don't believe the problem is systemic, as a quick search through this site's forums shows very few issues where a client's issue was not resolved. I will take note of this, I appreciate the feedback! -Tim

    Geovision on Apple Mac Products

Hi Everyone, The remote viewing setup guide for connecting from a MAC system can be found at: http://usavisionsys.com/files/Mac_OS_Remote_Viewing_Setup_Guide_C04B0109.pdf The iPhone is still being beta tested - right now I am able to log in to our company's webcam server, view all cameras, take screen shots and also control PTZ cameras. It is slated for release hopefully by the end of the summer. -- Tim Shen / Account Executive USA Vision Systems, Inc.

Anyone use the V3E POS ethernet based geovision?

Hi destro, I'd recommend checking with our technician's live chat at www.usavisionsys.com (link on the left side) to see if it would be a simple integration. Generally, as long as the text inserter works through a hyper terminal test, there should be no compatibility issues. -- Tim Shen / Account Executive USA Vision Systems, Inc.

Geovision Software and Watchfire LED Sign

Hi cbrels, I would recommend to check with our technical support department's live chat at www.usavisionsys.com (link on left side). I don't believe it's a software compatibility issue as much as it may be a hardware issue, but I'm not sure what exactly could be causing that. -- Tim Shen / Account Executive USA Vision Systems, Inc.
  14. Are there any decent wireless cctv cameras??

Hi, You can find the compatible IP cameras at our website at: http://www.geovision.com.tw/upload/en/Datasheet_NVRV83.pdf The last page of the data sheet shows the compatible IP cameras. There is an additional licensing fee to use 3rd party cameras. From sunny SoCal...

Hi Everyone, My name is Tim Shen and I am from Irvine, California (USA). I work for USAVisionSys, which is the US Branch of GeoVision. I went to USC and received my BSEE degree in 2008. Pretty much new to the security industry, but I am definitely enjoying learning more about it everyday! I came across this website while doing some market research, and am happy to see that there is so much discussion on the forums! Please feel free to PM me if you have any questions as well - thanks! -Tim
  18. Hi Everyone, GeoVision is still developing the iPhone application. I have the beta version installed on my iPhone and I can view the cameras at our US branch's location (video, not picture by picture). The screen will rotate the camera if you tilt your iPhone, and you can also slide your finger to scroll through different cameras and also move your PTZ cameras in that fashion as well. We are looking to release it in hopefully 1-2 months - thanks for your patience! -- Tim Shen / Account Executive USA Vision Systems, Inc.

Setting up data capture to Micros POS

Hi pdiddy, A hyperterminal test will need to be done on non-Windows based systems - if text can be pulled up through it, then it will transition smoothly. Please feel free to contact our technical support's live chat department at usavisionsys dot com for further assistance - thanks! -- Tim Shen / Account Executive USA Vision Systems, Inc.
  20. Hi Jaskarn, I'm happy to hear that the GV2008 card is working well for you. Most of the comments on this thread are true - if you purchase a GV component and build the PC yourself, then it is unlikely to have the same performance as someone else's build. However, GeoVision does offer a prebuilt system, known as the HotSwap V3. You can learn more about it from the headquarters' website. What I do find ridiculous is: "...the frequent bad support and the arrogant attitude of GV the reason to use them not anymore. Don't like to beg for some service. Maybe is the service in the USA better then in Asia... don't know.." SNG: I doubt your isolated incident is true across the board. I work at the US Branch of GeoVision and have not heard of the kind of complaint that you've had. If you really had such a poor experience, you should try listing the contact's name and suggest to be wary of him rather than apply it to GeoVision as a whole. Jaskarn, as you can see, there are many products out there which in the end, do pretty much the same thing. GeoVision's v8.3 software was released a few months ago and there are many new features listed on our HQ website - feel free to contact me if you would like any additional information! -- Tim Shen / Account Executive USA Vision Systems, Inc.
  21. Hi tegatdavis, I checked your inquiry with our engineer and his response is: "Yes his math is correct. The total number of FPS available will be divided by the number of channels recording. So with 6 cameras recording at 720x480, it will be 60/6 = 10 fps per channel." Feel free to contact our technical support department via live chat at usavisionsys dot com. -- Tim Shen / Account Executive USA Vision Systems, Inc.
  22.
