nothing new in head count cameras. (people counting) been around for many years. bosh was one of the first around 5-6 years ago. now you can get it on budget DVRs. also built in to IP cameras. as far as the olympics. all cameras are done and inplace. the metro systems are also inplace (3 year plan) and are on a goverment frame work all back to one location.

having just 1 ptz is a good idea for your carpark but i would back it up with fixed cameras as well. PTZ do have there place. but just pan tilt and zoom all day long is a waste of time. but in a restaurant carpark they do have a good use. scanning all cars parked at least every hour just to log number plates. (much easier to find people who have left without paying) your link has UK prices ??? if you are in the uk. your system will need to conform to DPA standards. it does not cost to be registered but fitting a cheap system may fail DPA regs. so dont spend twice buy brand named equipment from the start.

Hi Taylor. are you qvis UK or USA. ??? -
what is it you will be protecting ??? 20k for 25 ip cameras and 25 solar and battery backup / and a methard to get the data back to the NVR for 25 cameras. is lower than trade price.

150m wireless with 25 ip. do you have power at each camera location ??? what is your budget going to be.
-
giving a price for what you need is a bit hard on what you say you need. ip and dvr is not a match. are you going to use standard cameras and ip. if so you will be looking for a hybrid. how many ip cameras. solar run still give you the problem of getting the data back to the NVR. also how far are you looking at the cameras being from DVR/NVR

D-770 has 4 alarm inputs at the head. much easier to setup. i would take your sensors back to the head. and setup though your controller. -
Hi netgear do a good little unit . Netgear Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter XAV101 Tomcctv, do you think this device would work if the dvr is in a different building then the router? In this setup the customer has a farm with several sheds. All of the cameras & dvr are setup in one shed, but the internet connection is about 50 away across from it. The customer is thinking of digging a and running the line to the shed, but I wanted to see if we could do something else.. hi. yes that will do the job. but there is nothing better than hard wired if your custom is willing to dig then thats the best way to go. i would run a few cat5 and coax for later use.

Avermedia Codec Question, Hardware vs. Software Key
tomcctv replied to mateck8888's topic in AverMedia
or just use the avermedia NVR software. no card needed for full ip. -
we can get them wood effect/ carbon fiber effect / mirror effect. but if we need black ... then its just down to a spray can.

your subnet should be 255.255.255.0 and your gateway is the ip of your router (the number you use to callup your router) netgear is usually 192.168.0.1. but you have a sky router which i think is 192.168.0.2xx

can you not just add a sling box to your large monitor. put your image into sling box first then to monitor. then you can stream how ever you want.

hi. dont now why you keep making a new thread. in your last thread i asked for you to try everything WITHOUT ddns. use your external ip. then once everything is working then set your ddns dvr .. port 82 router forward port 82 to your dvr address. set to pass though your netgear firewall. also on your dvr make shure all settings are the same subnet 255.255.255.0 and your gateway is the same as your router.

EyeSpy247Ext Problem for a person at risk
tomcctv replied to HumanRightsNGO's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
there are plenty of engineers in london area. i could put you intouch with.... but i dont think that this is your problem. the kit you have is a simple plug and play auto set-up. you could have a few problems IF. the camera has already been used or you have bought second hand. if the camera was used on another network and you try to connect to another it will not work without a master reset. the company offers a reset but only to the original buyer. (via cam ID given when first setup) for the purpose you are using the camera i would say dont use it and dont buy the same brand. you sould never have any 3rd party (who you dont know) recording and watching your camera. buy a ip camera that you have total control over. -

Popular selling point for IP solutions
tomcctv replied to lely09's topic in IP/Megapixel Cameras and Software Solutions
By this same argument, buying a Hummer is cheaper than buying a Jeep Liberty. BTW: Example Residential/Retail 1x MP Camera $600, 1xPC for NVR $500, 1x100' Cat5 Cable $50, 1xGB POE Switch $200 = $1250 +Labour for networking and setup of IP camera and Switch+Training (if client even computer literate) 4x Color IR Cameras $200, 1xDVR $250, 4x100' RG59 Siamese $140, 1x12VC 1.5a Power Supply $15, 8x BNC @ $1 ea $8 = $613 +Basic setup (DVR setup in less than 3 minutes, plug, play and record) Labour for both will vary, but with cheap Color IR anyone can basically screw them up on the wall and they have no real adjustments besides twist and turn ... its so easy a caveman can do it Now, with the 4 cameras you have 4 areas covered instead of just one with the MP camera, although lower resolution so you cant see the mole on the perps face. But most people buy based on how much something costs, not what they want or need (or lets face it everyone would have the best vehicles and largest beach front homes), and if positioned properly in many cases the lower res cameras do provide good enough evidence to capture the perp, even if some digital enhancements are required. Even if all of us Professionals were to move to IP cameras today and never touch another analog camera, the analog camera will still have the market as people are essentially cheap, as long as the cheaper product is out there, they will buy it even if it means installing it themselves. i think its a cost issue that people get mixed up with. $600 for mp is not the case if you just go 1.3mp and use a hybrid $280 -
